Turkey Lasagna
The best, simplest turkey lasagna ever! This recipe is perfect to make for a big crowd or your typical weeknight for plenty of leftovers to carry you through a busy week.
This turkey lasagna is everything. It’s a simple recipe that can quickly be thrown together on a busy weeknight, but hits all the right spots for your comfort food needs.
I make this turkey lasagna for pretty much every holiday and it’s always a crowd pleaser. I mean, what’s better than a warm plate of lasagna?!
This recipe also really comes in handy when you have a busy week coming up, but want a hearty homemade meal ready to go. Make this on Sunday or Monday night and have a great meal that the whole family can enjoy for the next few days. And if you don’t finish it all, you can freeze it!
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. ground turkey
Oven ready whole wheat lasagna noodles
Ricotta
Fresh mozzarella
Grated pecorino Romano cheese
Marinara sauce
LAYERING THE LASAGNA
Layer 1: ground turkey
Layer 2: oven ready noodle, and spread ricotta on noodles
Layer 3 & 4: Mozzarella slices & sprinkle pecorino
Layer 5: marinara
INSTRUCTIONS:
Brown turkey in large skillet, drain, and transfer turkey into a large bowl
Add 2-3 cups of marinara and stir well (if seems dry add more sauce)
Layer the lasagna as follows:
- Ground turkey
- Oven ready noodle, and spread ricotta on noodle
- Mozzarella slices
- Sprinkle pecorino
- Thin layer of marinara
Repeat layers until pan is full, and add marinara on the very top
Fill one cup of water and pour around the edge of the pan to help noodles bake
Baked at 350° F for 20 minutes with foil over top, and then an additional 20 minutes with foil removed
Taste to make sure cheese is melted through and that noodles are cooked - if not, cook until desired feel (usually less than 10 minutes)
